Expressions of Interest have closed for 2024 and will re-open in early 2025.
The John James Foundation has once again joined forces with Hands Across Canberra and The Snow Foundation to deliver a collaborative grant round to distribute $1,000,000 in grants to the Canberra community sector.
In 2022, we launched the inaugural Canberra Foundations Collaborative (CFC) grant round to create a simplified and central process for community-focused organisations to apply for funding from a number of foundations to save on time and resources.
2024 marks our third year offering the collaborative grant round, with the majority of grants expected in the $5,000 – $25,000 range, with a few up to $50,000. A limited number of multi-year grants are possible.
Grant Process
We have a two-step process:
1: Submit an Expression of Interest online via the Hands Across Canberra portal (written or video). Link to portal.
Expressions of Interest opened on 21 February and closed on 18 March 2024.
2: Invitation to submit an application.
Once Foundations have reviewed the Expressions of Interest, selected organisations will be invited to submit a full application.
Full applications will be open on 5 April and close on 26 April 2024.
From there each Foundation will follow their own process of assessment and approval with announcements being made in June 2024.
Information sessions
Two information sessions were held where representatives from each Foundation provided an overview of the process and answered queries.
The sessions were held on:
Tuesday 27 February at 11am
Wednesday 6 March at 3pm
Information sessions will be held again in the lead up to the 2025 grant round.
