2023 Grant Round Expressions of Interest open 22 February through to 14 March

About the Collaboration

Canberra Foundations Collaborative is a partnership between local community foundations: Hands Across Canberra (which administers the Chief Minister’s Charitable Fund), the Snow Foundation, and the John James Foundation. The Aspen Foundation also supports the collaboration. Each year the Foundations run a major grant round in Autumn and collaborate, share knowledge and co-fund.

In 2022, the collaborative piloted a major shared grant round to simplify the application process for organisations who already have limited resources for grant writing.

  • We awarded 71 local projects with almost $1.5 million in grant funding to support people who experience health issues, economic and social disadvantage.
  • The grants covered a range of causes and helped address needs and support capacity in Canberra’s community sector.
  • The collaboration allowed us to support more projects at full funding
  • We were able to connect organisations with common goals or similar challenges to share learnings and collaborate.

So, with all of this behind us, in 2023, the Canberra Foundations Collaborative will conduct a second large grant round together.

Approximately $1,000,000 will be available in grants (evenly provided by the three partner foundations).
